About Watch60

An independent guide to buying a pre-owned luxury watch in the UK — who writes it, and how we check what we say.

01

What Watch60 does

Watch60 publishes independent guides to buying a pre-owned luxury watch in the UK: what to check, what things cost, and how to avoid the common mistakes. We don’t sell watches and aren’t party to any sale between you and a seller.

02

Who writes our guides

KA

Kay Atkinson is Watch60’s watch specialist. Kay has spent over 20 years in luxury watch retail — from shop-floor sales to running a dealer’s online presence — and writes and reviews every guide on this site before it’s published.

Kay Atkinson is a house byline: the name under which Watch60’s editorial team writes, drawing on that real retail experience, rather than the public profile of one individual. Every fact in a Watch60 guide still carries its own named, dated source — see the sources list at the bottom of each guide — so you can check anything we say against where it came from, independent of who wrote it.

03

How we check our facts

  • Every fact in a guide or brand page carries a named source and a link, usually the brand’s own site, a government or regulator page, or specialist watch press — shown in the sources list at the bottom of the page and dated to when we checked it.
  • Where a figure can change — an auction house’s buyer’s premium, a courier’s compensation limit — we point you to the live source to check at the time rather than quote a number that could go stale.
  • We review and update guides as rules, rates and sellers’ terms change. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
04

How we make money

Watch60 is editorially independent: no brand or dealer pays to be covered, ranked or recommended more favourably. If that changes for any guide, we’ll say so on the page.
